The Bird of Paradise, exotic and unusual, symbolizes many different things. One popular meaning is paradise and freedom.

This image got Visual Muses started ... my new husband remembered seeing this image in my scrapbook and asked if I would consider making the bird of paradise image into a note card that he could send to some folks he had interviewed on the radio. That was around the year-end holidays in 1999. The next year I started making all the cards we sent to family and friends. Eventually I landed on the name Visual Muses and a cottage industry began.
